Friends of Disabled Adults and Children, FODAC,
Helps children and adults with a disability illness or injury by providing items such as wheelchairs, power chairs, walkers, hospital beds and specialized pediatric equipment to improve their mobility, gain a greater independence and enjoy a higher quality of life. FODAC is a not for profit organization that provides more than $10 million is services by providing four programs focusing of people with a disability, illness or injury.
Each year FODAC serves over 3000 children and adults by providing 5,000 equipment items. Fourteen Home Modifications were provided last year to Metro Atlanta families enabling persons utilizing a wheelchair the freedom of movement into and around their own home. FODAC partners with the Georgia Emergency Management Agency, GEMA, to serve as the statewide distributor of equipment in the case of a Georgia disaster.
Located in Stone Mountain, Georgia, FODAC continues to be the national leader in equipment ReUse.
FODAC is recognized as a top 4 star organization by Charity Navigator, an independent rating service of non-profit organizations.
